Former PS leaves Okoa Kenya drive

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy has been dealt a blow after former Labour Permanent Secretary Beatrice Kituyi left the Okoa Kenya Movement's (OKM) Committee of Experts.

Ms Kituyi's position has been taken by lawyer Grace Katasi.

OKM Chairman Paul Mwangi said in a statement that Kituyi had requested to be excused.

"Kituyi had asked to be excused from the political phase of the drive to amend the Constitution following her successful participation in the drafting of the Constitutional Amendment Bill and its launch at the Bomas of Kenya," said Mr Mwangi.

OKM said it welcomed Ms Katasi and "looks forward to her invaluable contribution to the objectives being pursued while also thanking Kituyi for her contribution and wishes her the very best in her future endeavours."

Katasi is an advocate of the High Court with 24 years standing on the Roll of the Advocates. She has a Master's and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Nairobi, a diploma in Law & Practice and a post-graduate diploma in Forensic Accounting.
