Kenya's Radio Maisha marks 5 years in children’s home

Nairobi: Radio Maisha team visited Imani Children’s Home in Kayole, Nairobi to celebrate five years of operation.

During their visit the team, led by Head of Radio Maisha Tom Japanni, showered the home with presents such as pampers, assorted foods, balls and sanitary towels among other gifts.

Mr Japanni said the team was privileged to celebrate the radio station's birthday with those who were at the the home.

“It was fun interacting with the kids. We are here as their brothers, sisters and parents,” said Japanni.

“Our aim is to touch a life of a child. Children are a blessing from God and we love interacting with children because life starts from childhood,” he added.

Japanni said this was  their first visit to the  children's home, but pledged to support  more children in need of help in future.

Imani Children’s Home, which has seven branches with 350 children, was established in 1992, by Faith Wanjiru.

Tabitha Imani, the manager, said their main focus is to rescue abandoned children within Nairobi.

“We thank Radio Maisha for their contribution and we appreciate their support and kindness to the needy in the society,” said Imani.
