Visiting US Secretary of State John Kerry's itinerary

Visiting US Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with 1998 US embassy bomb blast survivors before heading to State House for talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Foreign Affairs and International Trade CS Amb Amina Mohamed said Kerry will meet the survivors at the bomb blast site around 9.00 am where he will be expected to interact with them. Kerry's visit according to the CS is a road map towards Obama's visit .

She said Kenya takes the visit as a very important one adding that more visits are expected from US dignitaries.

Among issues that could rise include compensation of the victims who have been demanding that US pay them for damaged and injuries they suffered when terrorists hit the embassy that saw 218 Kenyans die.
Ms Mohamed said: "The US secretary of State will be at the bomb blast site at 9.00am.Yes he will be holding talks with the survivors. He will later meet the president at State House at 10.00am."Kerry will later meet Cord luminaries Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka at Serena Hotel.
She said Kerry's visit ahead of President Barack Obama's July's was very important to Kenya at this time of terror attacks.
"He will be holding talks with the Head of State. This is a clear indication of Kenya's strong relationship with the US," she said.

He will later meet representatives from Eritrea and Putland were talks on taming terrorism in the region are expected to feature.

In the Afternoon Kerry will be at the United Nations High Commission of Refugees  (UNHRC) and later meet business leaders at 5.00pm.

On Tuesday, Kerry will be hosted by civil society groups.He will be leaving on Wednesday morning.
