Bride-to-be killed by flying piece of plywood in freak accident buried in her wedding dress

An estate agent who was killed after being hit by a piece of plywood blown from a construction site has been buried in her wedding dress.

Tina Nguyen, 37, was walking to work when she was struck by the plywood ripped off a fence by a gust of wind in New York city on Tuesday.

Around 200 family and friends gathered in a Philadelphia church yesterday to say farewell to the real estate broker, who was due to get married in four month’s time.

As a final tribute, her bridesmaids wore the gowns they were due to wear to her wedding.

Fiance Alex Beitler, who proposed at the top of the Eiffel Tower, spoke of his love for Tina before the Reverend Hugh Shields delivered a eulogy, reports the New York Daily News.

He said: "Seeing everyone here, I can’t not be touched by the number of broken hearts today.

"This loss is so great."

The 4ftx8ft piece of wood that killed her was attached to a fence surrounding a block of flats undergoing construction.

A gust of wind blew it more than 50ft across the road where it struck Nguyenas she walked to her office in lower Manhattan.

Health and Safety inspectors shut down the building site as they launched an investigation.
