A man in Siaya County left locals in stitches after it emerged, through his own confession, that the underwear he stole and sold to a man stalking his aunt was actually his sister’s!

The man, only identified as Odhiambo, owned up and confessed — before a huge crowd of tickled locals — to selling his sister’s panties to his aunt’s stalker.

Apparently, the stalker had asked for the garment with intentions of taking it to a witchdoctor to enable him win the woman’s heart.

This was after the woman played hard to get, and proved to be quite slippery. Odhiambo said his would-be brother-in-law had promised him a handsome pay if he succeeded in getting him the panties.

However, Odhiambo, whose love for cheap liquor is legendary in the locale, is said to have picked his sister’s undies instead of his aunt’s.

“We met at a local drinking joint where the man gave me Sh100 and promised to add more upon completing the mission successfully,” confessed Odhiambo, with a sheepish grin on his face.

Immediately he was given the cash, he went home to look for the undies, which he was told to deliver in the next three days.

When he went home after gulping glasses of chang’aa, his favourite drink, he went to their makeshift bathroom to pick the ‘cargo’ as he had been instructed.

Unfortunately, he was just not sure which one belonged to his aunt, since the bathroom was used by both his sister and aunt. “For fear of being caught taking the underwear, I panicked.

“And without bothering to know which one belonged to my sister or aunt, I picked one, stuffed it in my pocket, and I took to him. He gave me an additional Sh50,” Odhiambo reveals.

It was however, discovered that the undies he had delivered belonged to his sister after he heard her complain the following day.

“I heard my sister telling my aunt about her missing undies in the bathroom. It was during this time that I discovered I had taken the stalker undies belonging to my sister,” he says.

According to one local, Odhiambo was forced to look for the stalker to get back the undies.

“The man was forced to look for the stalker before things went wrong. Luckily, he found him a day later, and gave back the underwear.

“ It is not known whether the stalker had already taken the item of clothing to the witchdoctor, and had to collect it from there. But at least he returned it,” said the local.

After Odhiambo’s confession, he was reported to his father who gave him a dressing down, and warned him against dealing with witchdoctors.

Odhiambo was asked to apologise to his sister and aunt, which he did. However, the relationship between him and them remains tense.

The duo is not willing to speak to Odhiambo; they still can’t fathom that one of their own could be party to such a dirty deal.
