EACC, Auditor General investigate funds misuse claims in Narok

NAROK, KENYA: Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the office of the Auditor General have commenced investigations into alleged misappropriation of funds by the Narok County government.

Narok County Commissioner Kassim Farrah revealed that the EACC and the Auditor General have begun investigations on issues that the leaders have raised against Governor Samuel Tunai and called on residents to be patient until the final report is out.

Speaking to the Press after a meeting with EACC chairperson Mumo Matemo and Auditor-General Edward Ouko, Farrah said the commission's findings are going to be recommended and handed to the president who will give the way forward.

"We want to appeal to the leaders and their supporters to maintain peace and allow the officers that the president has sent to conduct investigations," said Farrah.

Kassim said the presidency is the highest authority in the land and appealed to them to respect the president's call that he be allowed time to investigate the allegations.
