Police officers in the county have been warned against laxity.

Deputy County Commissioner Mwongo Chimwaga yesterday said officers who do not respond to distress calls immediately risk being sacked.

"Those officers who do not respond to security alerts on time will be dealt with, because, we cannot sit down and watch as our people are being attacked and injured," Mr Chimwaga said.

He said the rate of crime in the county was increasing at an alarming rate and cautioned officers taking guard at banks and other premises to be more vigilant.
