The Standard Group  has launched the second edition of the “Jicheki na 100 Thao Kila Siku” aimed at rewarding faithful customers.

A total of 45 Kenyans will each win Sh100,000 in the promotion expected to run from December 1 to January 14, 2015.

“We will be giving away Sh100,000 every day for 45 days to our loyal and frequent readers and listeners,” said Standard Group Managing Director, Print Francis Munywoki.

The Standard will print out a nine-digit serial number daily on the back of the newspaper and just like a lottery ticket, viewers and readers will buy the papers daily and keep the ticket containing the number.

The winners will be required to produce a physical copy of the winning paper to redeem the cash.
“Each number will be unique and so, everyone will have an equal chance on a daily basis to win the money,” said Munywoki.

The lucky numbers will be announced by comedian and radio presenter Jalang’o every Saturday on KTN at 6.20pm and printed the next day on The Standard On Sunday newspaper.

MANY COPIES

The Standard customer service lines will be open for any queries on how to collect the rewards, and those in counties are advised to visit bureau offices.

The entries will be invalid if received late than one week after the announcement of the winning numbers.

Standard Group head of marketing Doreen Mbaya said the promotion follows a successful first edition in 2013, where a similar amount was given out.

“We decided to hold it again this year following the positive responses we had last year. We encourage as many Kenyans to participate and assure them the process is being carried out in a free, fair and transparent manner,” said Mbaya.

Readers will be expected to buy as many copies of the newspaper every day to increase their chances of winning. The group is Kenya’s oldest media house and prides itself in disseminating balanced and fair coverage.

It is engaged in the publishing of The Standard, The Standard on Saturday and The Standard On Sunday newspapers, distribution of selected local and foreign newspapers, magazines and periodicals and television and radio broadcasting namely KTN and Radio Maisha respectively, among other things.
