Government releases Sh3 billion for constituency roads

Bumula, Kenya: The national government has released Sh3 billion for the tarmacking of roads in Bumula constituency.

Bumula MP Bonface Otsiula, welcomed the move saying it would go a long way in boosting development in the area.

"Tarmacking of 28 kilometres Musikoma-Buyofu-Mungatsi and the 14 kilometres Mateka-Myanga roads will start soon and I am calling on area residents to use the opportunity to change their lives," said Otsiula.

Speaking during a site visit at Musikoma junction, Otsiula said the roads would open up the region for trade.

Kenya Rural Roads Authority Bungoma County manager Joseph Wanyama, said other roads that would be tarmacked include Kapsokwony-Kopsiro-Namwela-Chwele Road, and Malaba-Ang'urai and Moding road in Busia County.
