KCB sponsors 120 SMEs for China tour

KCB Group has sponsored 120 entrepreneurs for a 10-day business exposure trip to China.

The expedition offers Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) an opportunity to learn from established Chinese counterparts with a view to replicating the same locally. The entrepreneurs, who will fly out on October 8, 2014, are members of the KCB Biashara Club and property developers’ club.

KCB Retail Director Anastacia Kimtai said the tour is part of the bank’s efforts to support growth of SMEs by providing platforms for learning and knowledge sharing.

“The SME sector plays a critical role in creating jobs and generating income for low income people,” said Ms Kimtai. The bank’s Group Mortgages acting Director Samuel Muturi confirmed that more than 50 members of the property developers club would get an opportunity to experience innovative architectural designs, master planning, interior designs and building supplies during their visit to China.

“With low-cost technology, developers will pass on the benefits to home buyers, which in turn will help bring down property prices and make housing affordable to Kenyans,” said Mr Muturi.
