Police complete probe into Kabando wa Kabando mother's death

Police have completed investigations into the murder of Mukurwe-ini MP Kabando wa Kabando's mother, alleged to have been killed by the MP's younger brother.

Corporal Patrick Oyalo from the Nyeri CID division, on Monday told a Mukurwe-ini court that he would hand the investigation report to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) that would then handle the case.

Among the crucial contents of the report to be handed to the DPP is a psychiatric report of the suspect Caesar Thiari stating whether he is fit to stand trial for murder?

The deceased Rose Wachera Mwangi, 70, was laid to rest last Saturday in a burial ceremony attended by various leaders.
It is alleged that Thiari slashed his mother's throat with a panga to death.

Mukurwe-ini Acting Senior Resident Magistrate Victor Otieno, allowed the prosecution to move the case to the Nyeri High Court, which will hear whether the suspect is psychologically fit to stand trial.

The case will be mentioned before the Nyeri High Court Tuesday 5.
