Another Nigerian nabbed with over Sh2m worth heroin

NAIROBI, KENYA: Another Nigerian was on Monday arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi while carrying several pellets believed to be of heroin valued at over Sh2 million.

The man had arrived at JKIA aboard KQ while on transit to Abidjan Monday night when he was intercepted by police.

He was placed under observation and police say he had so far emitted 61 pellets of the drugs suspected to be heroin.

Airport CID boss Joseph Ngisa said he had inserted the pellets in his anal system and had been at the transit lounge when he was arrested.

“We hope he will be through with the emission before we take him to court,” said Ngisa.

He added police surveillance had been increased at the airport to tame increasing incidents of drug trafficking.

Monday’s arrest came days after another Nigerian was arrested while carrying 57 pellets valued at more than Sh5 million.

Police said he had by Monday emitted 53 pellets out of 57 and will appear in court on Thursday.
