It’s too late to wish Ocampo away; let’s fix the system

Brief:

I have read in the Daily Nation yesterday, an article by Thuita Mwangi, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arguing that it is premature for Luis Moreno-Ocampo to come to Kenya on a mission to start the process of dealing with post-election violence perpetrators through the International Criminal Court (ICC). ...more

Bwana Anyang Nyongo', how innocent are you in the whole mess? You equally stole the elections particularly in your constituency. Remember the demos against you getting a free certificate, the talk shows on radio about it? At least there were no lives lost. You should get it; Stealing election should never have been a justification for the murders. It was not ODM or PNU- it WAS BOTH you inclusive.

The minister says "when people in political power stole the elections plunged the country into crisis and more or less invited a popular rebellion" is he trying to explain the post-election violence and absolving ODM of blame and by extension himself? I wonder. There is no excuse why over 1200 Kenyans lost their lives and thousands were displaced. There was planning and Ocampo needs to get to work!

Why does it look like PNU is against the ICC trials! Why does it look like they do not want Ocampo to take over the case! Remember they also voted against Mutula's motion on Local Tribunal? Is it not mainly the Kikuyu's who died? Why do they want to deny them justice? I guess most culprits should come from Rift Valley Anyway! What some other tribes did was to respond and protect their people!
