| Residents of Mombasa and other towns deserve better services including:solid waste management; waste water treatment; good roads and drainage; quality water supplies; reliable power supplies and access to affordable medical facilities. Given competing demands for 'scarce' and 'mismanaged' national resources, Kenya needs to explore the Public_Private Partnership (PPP) option for service delivery.

| Minister shocked? Give us a break, rephrase that, or at least put it in quotatiom marks! What would shock her about this? You would think she had sorted out every other such problem in the country! It is the same old circus...same old clowns at play here! HOW can anyone get away with dumping raw waste into the ocean in this millenium!!

| It a big shame at this time and age for leaders to allow something like this to go on for so long. This is mismanagement of the highest order. I'm sorry this is going to kill any little life that has been left in tourism by crime. When i visited Mombasa I could smell sewerage emmanating from the Ocean I suspected that was happening. I'm sure it is not only Mombasa but many African coastal cities.

HA HA HA
Mombasa town has been emptying it's raw into the Indian Ocean from the days of colonialists. It was a system that worked then when Mombasa's population was low. Today it's a million+. That's a known fact. Not only the sewarage system but the water system too.
It's a joke what the ministry claims. HA HA HA
