MOU was signed btw Narc Coalition in 2002 that ushered a new era of politics in Kenya a govt that was trusted across all regions in Kenya. But little did we know that MOUs are just but useless trash that can be trashed into the dust bin anytime. Now our teachers are happy that they have signed MOu with the govt who were they; ........well i hope this time round it will not be trashed ..!

Whatever the case, KNUT and the striking teachers and all those who supported them are winners-it shows that the Government can be brought down on its knees if they dont 'unclench their fists'. Dictators never go far. Next time, the Government and TSC must think before they leap. What will happen to retirees and umployed teachers-TSC?

The beneficiaries in this case are the highest paid teachers whose percentage increase favours their pockets, while the lowest paid are just escorting the winners. The difference has widened the gap between the highest and lowest paid teahcers even further and one wonders if this is what is called harmonization of salaries, job groups notwithstanding!

The gov't should stop using economic improvement as an excuse. Salary increment to teachers is long overdue. When MPs increased their pay the economy was at its worst and the ironical part is they are planning to increase councilors pay and they don't add any value to our economy true to the saying in a hyena's court the goat doesn't have a fair trial.

That makes me wonder why the Teachers had to torture students as well as parents who had already paid fees, and then end up signing an agreement similar to KUPPET's. Why didn't they accept the terms in the first place and save everyone the time, and money. What kind of an example are they setting for the young minds? And yet we wonder why students go on strike!

So how does the government afford to pay millions to former MPs?

Teachers thanks a lot for being gentlemen ( and ladies). We were putting our children in very akward positions. For the government too, we need such firm stands "applied behaviour analysis and positive ReInforcement" having double standards encourages future occurence of the undesired behaviour even in classroom management. We need to be firm and realistic at the same time.

KNUT owes the children of this nation and their parents an apology for squandering their time! Let us not pretend to praise them for calling off the strike when the damage has already been done. The pupils have lost two valuable weeks because of an unnecessary boycot initiated by KNUT even when it was obvious that not much would be achieved due to the conditions prevailing in the country. How do they intend to cover what should have been covered in the two weeks? Do they now intend to subject our young children to some crush program to cater for the time wasted? This is not fair to the young minds! A final word to the union officials: the union has been badly wounded and terribly weakened due to their carelessness, pride and insensitivity!
