| These kids sat and watched as grown ups and leaders battled it with fire, stones leaving 1000 + dead and scores injured. No one was charged besides some innocent youths with no money to hire lawyers ot to buy thir freedom. These school kids learnt from the grown ups and uneducating them from the shameful acts of post-election violence will be something I will graciously sit and watch the government do.

| The word "impunity "is enough to describe what is happenning in our schools.
How do you stop madness and the reforms are yet the same? How do you launch vision 2030 the reforms ,greedness is rampant and corruption.Kenya will not get out of the mess unless it gets a patriotic leader.

| I agree with your assessment on closing down of schools in Kenya. Canning students does not and will not help the current situation. I am an advocate of discipline in classes and schools but not corporal punishment that many of us went through.
What is needed right now is a review of the current curriculum. Students are overloaded and hence frustrated. Teachers are overworked and underpaid with the free secondary school programme. Inadequate learning facilities including co-curricular activities, poor nutrition contribute to increased stress levels among learners.
Parents and teachers should hold regular meetings. Prevention is better than cure. Counsellors should be hired to encourage dialogue between teachers, administrators, parents and students. I believe the post-election violence has affected students and no efforts were made to address the psychological effect the violence had on students. Many lost their families, others are still displaced while many are afraid of failing exams.

| Students are not to blame for the ongoing madness. The culture of leaving our children in the hands of no guidance is begining to show. School going children require continuous guidance and counselling. Parents asume that the school system incorporates teaches. However, teachers have there own problems children to take care of. So who is the role model for this students? No one. I belive the students are not acting in a wrong, criminal or unacceptable way. They are defending their rights to be parented. Parents of boarding school going children need to take up responsibilities.
