Six Kenyans advance to continental show round two
Twelve countries including Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya and Libya have confirmed participation at the ITF East African Junior Championships. Others are: Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The tournament will feature the under-14 and under-16 age categories for boys and girls.
Kenya Lawn Tennis Association secretary Paurvi Rawal said 55 players are expected to play at the event. "Each country can enter a maximum of eight players. Kenya Lawn Tennis Association (KLTA) has named 16 players for International Tennis Federation East Africa Circuit to be played in Nairobi on January 4-10.
The players in team A are: Derrick Onyancha, Jamine Luvembe, Ishmael Changawa and Eric Kipkoech for boys. The girls are Nikita Dawda, Paige Mbugua, Michelle Onyancha (pictured) and Damaris Musera. Players in team B are: Martin Wambua, Harsh Shah, Joel Mbuvi and Ibrahim Kibet (boys). Ariana Lobo, Gloria Chelangat, Cherryl Fuasso and Stephanie Mbaya are in team B.
