Twelve countries including Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya and Libya have confirmed participation at the ITF East African Junior Championships. Others are: Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The tournament will feature the under-14 and under-16 age categories for boys and girls.

Kenya Lawn Tennis Association secretary Paurvi Rawal said 55 players are expected to play at the event. "Each country can enter a maximum of eight players. Kenya is the only one entering more players (16) because it is the host nation," said Rawal.
