Nakuru lawyers want Chief Justice Evan Gicheru to remove a High Court judge for allegedly being highhanded.
The lawyers say they will petition Gicheru on Monday to remove Lady Justice Murugi Mugo.
Addressing the Press on Friday, Law Society of Kenya-Nakuru chapter Chairman Gordon Ogolla said the judge often harasses them.
"She publicly attacks lawyers in court and refuses to listen to them," he said.
Ogolla said it has become difficult to work with the judge and even though they had held several meetings with her and Nakuru Resident Judge Justice David Maraga, Mugo had refused to change.
"We have been forced to keep on asking her to disqualify herself from our cases, and when we do so she holds us in contempt of court," he said.
Assault charges
Meanwhile, former Budalang’i MP Raphael Wanjala has been acquitted of assault charges. Wanjala was alleged to have assaulted a television cameraman, who was filming him on July 8.
On Friday, Senior Resident Magistrate Victor Wakumire acquitted him after witnesses failed to show up.
