Ten cows and a goat died at a village in Mbeere North District after eating a shrub at a swamp.
On Tuesday, the District Veterinary Officer Lucy Karithi said they could not establish the cause death and sent samples of the carcasses to Kenya Veterinary Laboratories in Kabete. Dr Karithi said pasture at the swamp is green since onset of the rains. A post-mortem examination on the carcasses did not diagnose the problem.
