Your article on October 29 refers (Iteere forgets to respond on forgotten police post).
The Commissioner of Police wishes to thank Mr Anderson Kaimeh for being a responsible taxpayer by monitoring the condition of Lugumek Police Post in Bomet, and AN for monitoring the use of a Land Rover attached to Nyagacho Police Post. Other citizens are also encouraged to inculcate accountability in public service by monitoring how their taxes are used.
The Commissioner wishes to assure Kaimeh that the poor condition of Lugumek Police Post is due to the fact that in many parts of the country there is dire need for security services. This has led to the opening of police stations and posts to provide services. The Commissioner is putting every effort to ensure they are all upgraded.
Regarding the question of AN on the vehicle allocated to Nyagacho Police Post, the Commissioner wishes to inform him that due to a shortage of vehicles, the OCPD has been forced to deploy this Land Rover to serve several police stations and posts within Kericho Town and its environs. The Commissioner is making efforts to ensure police stations and posts are supplied with adequate means of transport.
However, for the time being we are forced to share what is available in our endeavour to provide services to wananchi. The delay in responding to these patriotic citizens is regretted.
