The prosecution has increased charges against a man arrested in connection with the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination leakage.

Mr Moindi, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of gaining access to a KCSE Biology Paper 2 on Tuesday, on Thursday denied having a History Paper 1 and CRE Paper 2.

The charge stated that on November 3, at Kengeles on Koinange Street, Nairobi, jointly with others not before the court, he revealed the contents of the papers to a media house.

The prosecution on Thursday asked trial magistrate Gilbert Mutembei to remand the accused person in custody until the KCSE candidates sit for the last paper on November 16.

Mutembei remanded him in police custody until today, when the court will decide whether to release him on bond.

Meanwhile, a man has been charged in a Mombasa court with obtaining money under false pretences.

Mr Arnold Charo is alleged to have committed the offence on October 2, at Mishomoroni, Bamburi District.

The charge states that Charo obtained Sh4,000 from Mr Bakari Isaac as tuition fees by pretending he would tutor him in preparation of this year’s KCSE exams, a fact he knew to be false.

His is also faced with another count of obtaining Sh6,000 from Hussein Anwar and Said Bakari by pretending he would help them prepare for the exams.

He, however, denied the charges before Senior Principal Magistrate Lilian Mutende and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000. The case will be heard on November 19.
