The minister for Education should not have a role in the appointment of board of governors in schools, says the Kenya National Association of Parents (Knap). The association wants district education officers to appoint board members.
"Some BOG members take advantage of the minister’s role in appointing them. They should undergo rigorous vetting before appointment," said Knap Secretary General Musau Ndunda.
Speaking in Mombasa, Ndunda said vetting school management committee members should include how they run their homes.
