Sambili orders camp reopened

Sports Minister Helen Sambili has ordered the Kiptenden Athletics camp be re-opened. Athletics Kenya (AK) closed the camp two weeks ago citing improper conduct by the camp’s officials. But on Sunday after the Nairobi Marathon, Sambili told AK to reopen the camp but deal with the errant individuals.

"Kiptenden has produced so many athletes. If a headmaster makes a mistake you don’t close the school. You deal with errant individual. Even if it is a police case let it be handled as such," Sambili said.
