Kiboko Bay Resort, located right at the shores of Lake Victoria, offers a relaxing memorable stay.
Part of the library
The resort is an exquisite hotspot in Kisumu and a visit to the lakeside town is incomplete without a stop here.
From the resort, there is a panoramic view of Lake Victoria and a night spent at the tented rooms completes the course. Visitors to the resort marvel at the beauty of the lake and get entertained from the chirping of birds in the bird sanctuary.
Nearby swamps enable one to strike and sample the hospitality of the resort.
"One can take a cruise to the lake with the guidance of competent guides and be able to see the islands around," says resort manager Rudolph Mathias. Top on the menu is fish masala whose cost is affordable at Sh450.
Foreign tourists
Those who enjoy reading books can do so at the resort’s library. The dining room from where guests enjoy international cuisines.
Mathias says the philosophy of the resort is founded on the fact that their clients are sacrosanct. Visitors can go fishing on the lake and try to catch a Nile Perch, the most common species around.
Owing to the influx of foreign tourists eager to sample the ancestral home of US President Barrack Obama, the resort now specialises in international cuisine, which supplements the local menu.
A well stocked bar is the perfect complement to serene surroundings and great meals.
