‘Standard’ joins cause for mental disability

Published on 03/10/2009

The Kenya Society of Mentally Handicapped (KSMH) has established an Endowment Fund to raise money for the mentally handicapped.

Marking a week for the less privileged ending October 10, KSMH joined hands with the Standard Group to raise awareness for the mentally challenged.

Standard Group Managing Director Paul Wanyagah said it was prudent to raise awareness and funds to assist families and individuals who need special care. To kick-start the campaign, Wanyagah, on behalf of the Standard Group, handed a Sh100,000 cheque to the Society’s CEO Edah Maina on Friday at the Standard offices.

The walk will be held in Westlands, Nairobi, on October 10 at 7am.
