The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league moves to Kisumu today with champions General Service Unit facing Kenya Prisons.

This encounter is expected to be highly charged as the two teams have a long time rivalry although the servicemen have always emerged top.

GSU go into the sixth leg encounters today having not lost a match but they know Prisons will give as much as they can receive. GSU coach Moses Epoloto said he was well prepared for the match and was keen to maintain the unbeaten run in the side.

"Two of my players who missed the last leg in Naivasha last month are back and I expect a good game against Prisons," Epoloto told Feverpitch before he left for Kisumu.

National team players Bernard Musumba and Elphas Biwott missed the fifth leg for GSU in Naivasha but they are expected to play today.

On his part Prisons coach Gideon Chenje said GSU was a good team but he was ready to break their unbeaten run.

"GSU have good players but I also have an arsenal that can match the missiles from the servicemen," Chenje said yesterday.

Prisons will be relying on national team attacker Dennis Mokua with the supporting cast of Ibrahim Oduor and Bilasio Kokonya.

After the league match, GSU and Prisons will also take the court to play in the Alfred Khangati Cup tie, which was postponed due to poor light in Bungoma in June.

GSU were leading 2-1 before the tie was stopped.

In the women matches, arch-rivals Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) take on champions Kenya Prisons at 9am.

Prisons will be led by national team players Brackcides Agala, Jane Wacu, Mercy Moim and Lydia Maiyo while Jackline Barasa and Mildred Odwako will be on court for KCB.
