Masinde Muliro breathes life into sleepy Kakamega
In our Saturday edition last week we carried a story of an artisan, Mr Ismael Shebah, who assembles posho mills for sale in Kakamega and Mumias towns.
In the story, we indicated the artisan trains engineering students from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. An erroneous impression was created in the story that the university’s students visit the artisan’s workshop for training on internships.
We have since established that the Kakamega-based university does not send its students to Sheba’s workshop. We are informed that the university operates on well-established procedures in terms of training its students and a comprehensive attachment programme for their practical skills.
We wish to take this earliest opportunity to apologise and to correct the erroneous impression.
Any embarrassment that the article may have caused Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology engineering students in particular and the university at large, is regretted.
