Valerie goes into acting

It seems every singing star is trying a hand in acting. While Amani will be playing a major role in a soon to be launched film, Valerie Kimani has been picked to star in the MTV Staying Alive Ignite drama series. The shooting of the drama series begun on Tuesday. The former Tusker Project Fame winner will be playing character Sindi. Lupita Nyong’o is playing the lead role,

Ayira, a beautiful and vivacious college student who is using her body to give her family a better life. The hard-hitting TV drama challenges societal attitudes towards taboo subjects as HIV and Aids and homosexuality.

Anthony Mwangi: Sky is the limit

A jubilant Anthony Mwangi called Pulse after learning that he had qualified as one of the MTV My Video nominees. "I am so delighted. I had waited with anxiety and this means so much to me," he told Pulse after when news broke that he would be joined by Julia Mumbi Thaitai and Robert Rajoro in the amateur category of the event.

The three singers now stand a chance of winning their very own MAMA trophy on October 10 alongside musicians during the gala ceremony in Nairobi. "The sky is the limit," says Anthony who is a fast rising actor, singer, model and comedian.
