Muhindi steers Sifi Moyo to Brigade of Guards glory

The Oliver Gray-trained four-year-old Sifi Moyo, owned by the Rainbow Warriors with Apprentice James Muhindi aboard, gave a last minute gallop to the finish to win Brigade of Guards Trophy.
Sifi Moyo beat stablemate Kamari with Timothy Pretorius in the saddle by 2/1/2 length to win the feature race at Ngong Racecourse yesterday.
Gray smartly entered front runner Olympic Spirit booking Julie McCann, but it was Kamari who mounted a stiff challenge against the leader in the 2800m race that attracted five runners.
Earlier on, visiting Jockey Pretorius steered Pirates Coup (SAF) a three-year-old filly trained by Gill Fraser beat tote favourite On Fire with the mount of Le Sercombe to second place during the season’s Guinness trials.
