One person has died and at least ten others seriously injured in a grenade attack at God's House of Miracles International Church, Ngara in Nairobi.
The incident occurred at around 8.50am on Sunday, the injured have been rushed to Guru Nanak Hospital and Kenyatta National Hospital.
The attacker is said to have gone into the church in pretence of being a worshiper and hurled the grenade when part of the congregation had moved to the front of the church for prayers.
He then ran out of the church and flashed out a gun at the people who had run after him.
The attack comes barely a week after the US embassy warned of terror attacks in the city (read related story).
There are however, claims that the land on which the church stands is facing a dispute between the church and some locals.
There has been a series of grenade attacks in the country since Kenyan troops entered Somalia in October 2011.
The recent ones being two simultaneous grenade attacks in Mtwapa town and Mombasa which left one person dead and ten others seriously injured.
The Mtwapa incident occurred when a grenade was hurled at a group of Christian faithful attending a church crusade while in Mombasa, a grenade was hurled at View Stadium bar.
Although it was suspected that Al Shabaab were responsible the group later denied any involvement.
