I am surprised that some groups like Gema are pushing their tribal agenda without considering the consequences.
Kenyans will agree that when Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli speaks for workers with such vigour, nobody remembers his tribe. And the Maasai community has helped make Kenya a leading tourist destination due to their adherence to culture.
And when footballers score for the national soccer team, everybody cheers.
Then there are the artists who entertain us â the actors, the comedians, the musicians. For instance, does it really matter what part of the country Eric Wainaina, with his Daima Mi Ni Mkenya comes from?
I remember the late Vice-President Kijana Wamalwaâs words; that the diversity that we have as Kenyans is our strength, and not a weakness, as some people may want us to believe.
