Two die after bus plunges into river

Two people died and 40 injured after a bus plunged into Athi River on Tuesday night.

According to Kenya Red Cross, the accident occurred around 8pm after the driver lost control of the bus due to heavy rains and plunged into the river after the Kitengela underpass

The bus was ferrying 100 workers from a flower farm in Machakos.

Several passengers managed to escape by jumping out of the bus.

The injured were rushed to Shalom Community Hospital and rescue operation is still underway.
