Mombasa Serena Beach Resort & Spa has won two awards. The hotel’s General Manager Tuva Mwahunga (pictured) said Mombasa Serena has outdone itself and scooped two internationally acclaimed awards.

The first award was conferred by Tripadvisor where the hotel was recognised as one of the best in business. Mr Marc Charron, President Tripadvisor for business and CEO, Mr Stephen Kaufer signed the congratulatory recognition certificate on behalf of Tripadvisor.

The other was Eco–Tourism Kenya award where the hotel received Gold Eco rating. “It was in recognition of the resort’s continued efforts to further sustainable tourism through presentation of Kenya’s environmental cultural heritage,’’ Mr Tuva said.

The Gold eco rating plaque which the hotel received is valid for two years starting May 2016 – April 2018. “We are extremely delighted with these awards,’’ the GM said.

The resort located in Mombasa’s north Coast region hosts a number of eco-programmes, which are designed to support and sustain the natural and human community where it thrives in.
