Arsenal legend Tony Adams could return

Arsenal have held preliminary talks with club legend Tony Adams about returning to the Gunners as part of a new-look coaching team.

Former captain Adams, who won four league titles as well as three FA Cups and two League Cups in a glittering spell, is being lined up to coach the Gunners' Under-18s team.

No deal has been agreed with Adams but discussions have been held with the former England defender and also with Thierry Henry about working within the club's academy set-up.

Adams has been out of management since 2011 after earlier stints with Wycombe, Portsmouth and Azerbaijani side Gabala.

The 49-year-old has already taken sessions at the Gunners' London Colney training ground but remains under contract at Gabala in his role as sporting director making any move more complicated.
