Meet the Canadian lass who stole rugby star Willy Ambaka from Kenyan ‘fisilets’

The Nairobian exclusively reveals how Ambaka met Amira Eapen, his girlfriend.

Love is no doubt the most beautiful thing on earth, when true love blossoms one would care less about themselves instead, care more about another person. For years, 'Kenyan Lomu' Willy Ambaka has been the most sought after rugby star by Nairobi women.

The Nairobian exclusively reveals how Ambaka met Amira Eapen, his girlfriend.

How did you two meet?

Ambaka: She should answer that. Let me make this official, she is my girlfriend and we have been dating for nine months now.

Amira: We met on Tinder sometime last August and I think he would do better explaining that to you. He complains a lot about it. This is not casual dating, we could have had a baby but lucky for us we are taking the appropriate precautions! Safe sex everyone out there

Off the pitch, how is he like?

Amira: He is a great man and a wonderful person. He is kind generous and very humble and since he is so big, he gives really great hugs. He is what I would imagine a grizzly bear would look like if they were human

Ambaka: She is the most amazing person I have ever met but at the same time, very stubborn. She keeps me on my toes and gives me the best pieces of advice and it is a good thing to be in love especially when you have a woman who is smart and always got your back. I really appreciate her.

But word out there is that you actually fell in love with him because he is a star?

Amira: Never ever! Actually I thought he was a catfish. You know when you pretend to be someone and you are not actually that person? Because everything that was on his app about him was actually on google; all the pictures, the stories name it. So, initially, I thought maybe that was just a persona he had adopted and eventually when we talked on phone, it felt weird so I went to YouTube to listen to him, watch and compare the voices just to be sure that he was not some weird  person

What is next after this?

Ambaka: Wacha akuambie hiyo, babe, I have to go now (Ambaka is pulled out to catch the team bus leaving the stadium)

Amira: I am Canadian but I live and work in Nairobi Kenya. I love my country; I know there is dual citizenship but am just fine with my single citizenship status. He says am really stubborn so, am just here watching, waiting and hoping it all works out for the best.

Willy, is she the reason you insisted on playing knowing very well that you have a shoulder injury?

Ambaka: It is always a great feeling when you know that someone special is on the stands cheering you on. But at the same time, she is always very hard on me whenever we lose a game or on a bad day in office.

But again, London was one special tournament, I wanted to be part of the team and I did not want to miss out on making history.

Amira: Like every other rugby game, it is always nice seeing him do his thing. Before I met him I had never watched a single rugby game so, I do not have any authority of judging him as a player. He made me watch and love rugby; I did know rugby was played on such a big scale beforehand. But now, I read news on rugby every single day.
