Kenyans expected new faces in recent cabinet reshuffle

This week’s reshuffle of Cabinet secretaries shows the Jubilee administration wishes to have the same game plan by retaining familiar faces.

The little time left before the next election may have informed the strategy of looking inwards within Jubilee troops to drive its agenda.

There will be questions on the skewed sharing of the “national cake” among Jubilee partners, with the Opposition strongholds remaining largely spectators.

The reshuffle undoubtedly reflects the urgency the Executive, with major Jubilee pledges being behind schedule.

Employment creation came a cropper after suspension of the NYS projects. The Government may need to rethink its job creation model.

The schools laptop project needs to be fast-tracked otherwise it will be a godsend for the Opposition come 2017.

Kenyans expected new faces with new ideas to address a myriad of challenges that include ballooning public spending, spiralling national debt, volatile exchange rate, revenue deficits, the education crisis and security threats.
