President Uhuru Kenyatta’s niece Kavi Pratt’s music is being felt across the globe.
The singer, who has worldwide fans including President Obama whom she wowed during his recent visit to Kenya, is now working with ‘Make It Kenya’, a campaign that aims to boost tourism investment in the country.
Her song, Twende Mbele, is the anthem for all adverts that feature on this campaign.
It has also been featured on CNN.
Kavi wrote on her Facebook: “My song was on CNN!!!! So proud to represent my country and all the beautiful gems it has to offer. Make it Kenya.”
Kavi has made Twende Mbele available as a free download.
She also requests her fans to contribute to Kenya Wildlife Trust, a charity organisation very close to her heart.
“I originally wrote Twende Mbele to celebrate Kenya’s 50th independence anniversary. However, the lyrics reflect the vibrancy, togetherness and potential of Kenya, which is exactly what Make It Kenya is trying to achieve. Kenya’s wildlife is unique and a huge part of what defines us as a country. It is important that we all play a part in protecting our wildlife because if we don’t, we will lose an integral part of what it means to be Kenyan,”she said.
