A week ago I decided to go for my first prenatal check up and get to know how my baby is doing and my health in general only to be told by the nurse that, "Machine za kupima haziko."

To add salt to the injury, I was referred to Kesses Health Care Clinic which also gave me the same story, "Machine za kupima haziko, itabidi uende Refferal"

Mind you, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital is in town hence from main campus to Eldoret town and back is a whole 200shillings.

This took me by shock because I expected a clinic especially one that is supposed to serve several mothers to be and mothers in general to have the required equipment to do so. Expectant or not, I am a student and I still pay my fees and I have a right for a better health services

So Vera, wake up and do your job so that women like me who depend wholly on the dispensary can get to be attended to and avoid wasting resources going to town to get the necessary treatment!

This time we want to hear that, "Machine za kupima ziko" and not the other way around.
