Man with no butt crack opens up about his bizarre painful - condition

A man who lost his butt crack to an unpleasant disease has shared his story of life without this vital piece of anatomy.

The user, calling himself TBoneTheOriginal, took to Reddit to share his abnormality, which is caused by severe pilonidal cysts.

The condition causes painful cysts to occur at the bottom of the tailbone and they can become infected and full of pus.

"I’ve had multiple surgeries on it and instead of the usual procedure which involves letting it heal, mine was so bad that a plastic surgeon had to close it up," he said.

"They keep coming back, and it’ll probably just get worse as I age."

The image he uploaded alongside the question and answer session shows his back and bum reflected in the mirror.

There is a dimple on his lower back and then the scar which closed up his intergluteal crease bum crack.

But what does his bum hole look like? "My butt hole looks the same as anyone else’s! The wound just goes very close to it."

How does he defecate? "I poop like anyone else. It's wiping that I have to be careful with.

"Because the wound is still open a bit, and it's right next to the butt hole.

"Gotta be careful with wiping so I don’t get faeces in the wound. But it isn’t hard after having to do it for eight years now."

Thankfully it hasn't affected his love life: “I’m married, and she’s cool with it.”

The AMA also allowed other pilonidal cyst sufferers to open up about their painful condition. One user ThePhlor said: "Yeesh. Had pilonidal cysts last year and got surgery this summer to remove it and that sucked...but not nearly as bad as this. Hope things get better."

While another said: "I had a pilonidal cyst removed when I was about 14.

"It was caused by hair follicles growing into my skin because apparently when the skin fused in the womb it overlapped a little extra.

"There must be a way to permanently solve your problem. I have never heard of them coming back once the tissue is removed."
