We are with you, was the call of support from the people of Ukambani after Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua shed tears while addressing a political rally.
Mutua stunned a crowd at the rally in Machakos town over the weekend when he shed tears narrating how his detractors were out to finish him politically.
Addressing more than 2,000 leaders from Kitui County at the People's Park who had paid visited him, Dr Mutua said some top ranking politicians from Ukambani were ganging up to destabilise him politically over his good cause to eradicate poverty in Ukambani.
The emotion forced the governor to briefly cut off his speech as Kitui South MP Rachael Nyamai and her Kilome counterpart Regina Ndambuki intervened to console him by giving him handkerchief to wipe his tears as the enthusiastic crowd watched in confusion.
The scenario forced the crowd to stand up and start shouting and cursing those behind the governor's tribulations, with some asking 'how can you subject such an innocent man to this kind of torture and humiliation'.
The governor has posted a video of his speech on his social media accounts reiterating his determination to continue Maendeleo Chap Chap initiative.
