Kenya National Highways Authority gets new director general

Eng. Peter Mundinia has been appointed the Director General of the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA).

He takes over from Linus Tonui, who is proceeding on retirement upon attaining the statutory retirement age.

Prior to his appointment, Eng. Mundinia was the Acting Director of the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) since November, 2014.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi (UON) and a Post Graduate Degree in Business Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). He also holds an Executive Leadership Certificate from London School Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Britain. 

He is a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a Corporate Member of Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK). He is also a Member of Kenya Institute of Management (MKIM).  

Eng. Mundinia has over 25 years of experience in the Public Service, having risen through the ranks from Assistant Engineer Roads to the position of Provincial Roads Engineer in the Ministry of Roads and Public Works. He joined Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) as General Manager, in charge of Maintenance in 2009, a position he held till his appointment to Acting Director General of KURA of November 2014.
