Wazungu flock to ‘Dr Juma’s clinic’ in Kwale to boost sexual performance

 Dr Musa Juma

A medicine man in Kwale claims that most of his clients either want to boost their libido or win over local women.

The ‘doctor’ claims his foreign clients are looking for love from local women while locals mostly want to boost their sexual performance.

Meanwhile, he says Kenyan women also seek his magic to be admired by Western tourists.

‘Dr Musa’ Juma dispenses portions and medicine in his home area of Mwamanga, Diani division in Kwale County. His assortments include herbs and strange paraphernalia that he says have produced many millionaires.

During the entire session of our interview, he peruses through a calendar embedded with photos of some of the tourists he says he has given love options.

A couple of tourists from Italy and Germany have paid him a visit, not to be treated but to sample his medicine. Younes Laura and Aichaoui Tschernitz have cycled all the way from their hotels to the village to see the ‘bush doctor.’

“It has been a great opportunity to sample out all kinds of medicine that the bush doctor has,” they said. Unlike other medicine men who are even advertising their work on face book and twitter Dr Juma credits his marketing to former clients. ‘Dr Juma’ produces a small bottle, stuffed with black ointment. The black ointment produces a beautiful scent, he attributes to love.

“This medicine is so special and is applied on the body before meeting your bait. Most women who have used it are now swimming in millions of money after capturing tourists and that is why they keep on coming,” he added.

He says the medicine works for all races and he is optimistic that the picking up of tourism has good tidings. Apart from love portions, Juma also prescribes medicine for other ailments and conditions like painful monthly periods.

“First you have to ask what ails them but some are frank on what they want,” he added.

The bush doctor as some of the tourists interviewed referred to him, says his medicine comes from Tanzania, Uganda and areas like Kilifi, Malindi and even Kwale.

Currently he explains that business is good going by the number of tourists that visit though he evaded the question on how much he makes or charges.

“This place is now peaceful and we are also happy because we are receiving like six to eight tourists a week and when they come back everyone says, ‘Thanks Dr Juma the medicine you gave me has worked’,” he said.

Juma who is now in his 60s says he started at the age of 12.

“I now educate my children and eat from the sweat of this work.”
