Nairobi, Kenya: Wiper Party leader and CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has launched a scathing attack on the Government for what he calls “tech-savvy looting of public funds”.

Addressing journalists in Nairobi, Kalonzo said President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration is applying double standards in the fight against graft adding that institutions are being used to execute corrupt deals.

“The war on corruption cannot be used as a tool to wage political war and exclude “outsider” communities from participation in government or protect sacred but corrupt government “insiders”,” said Kalonzo.

Kalonzo said that the CORD fraternity will keep pushing for resignation of Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru over the tender and recruitment scandal at the National Youth Service (NYS).

“It is a pity that statecraft and resources are being mobilized to insulate Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru from accountability on suspected shady dealings in her ministry while at the same time unleashing dogs of war on “peripheral” cabinet secretaries and other senior government actors on flimsy allegations on corruption,” said Kalonzo.

“This doublespeak, outright endorsement and blatant public display of affection for a public servant by State House is the embodiment of leadership failure,” he added.

Kalonzo questioned Government’s approach in dealing with rampant cattle rustling is pastoralist communities, violent extremism and insecurity and called upon the Kenyans to support the Okoa Kenya drive which he insists will be revived soon.
