Makari Kituyi, the eldest son of the former Trade and Industry minister, was found dead in his house in Mountain View Estate,Nairobi, on June 28.
Prior to his death, Makari had gone out with former colleagues, Radio Africa’s Sales Manager Cornelius Muli (inset) and celebrated former news anchor Catherine Kasavuli’s son, Martin Kasavuli.
Cornelius told The Nairobian that indeed he was with Makari the previous night but refused to share details.
“Yes, I was with him but we have decided to release a joint statement together with the family,” Cornelius told The Nairobian on July 30 promising to send the statement.
We however did not receive the statement by the time of going to press.
Another source close to the former Radio Africa Head of TV revealed that Makari had suffered diabetic attacks before.
“It once happened at the parking lot at Lions Place. We thought it was normal and manageable,” said the source.
This information coincides with unofficial news that the aspiring filmmaker could have died of a diabetic attack.
Makari, a father of two, was married to singer Habida’s sister Bahati Moloney Kituyi. Bahati discovered her unresponsive husband after coming home from a party and took him to Aga Khan Hospital.
No official complaint has been made by the family over suspected foul play.
