A preacher was arraigned in court for allegedly conning a member of his church.
Pastor Henry Kiarie, 59, reportedly obtained Sh875,000 from Elizabeth Wambui by promising to sell her a piece of land in Njiru.
The prosecution said the accused, who was released on a Sh100,000 bond, committed the offence on May 30, 2011.
The court heard that the pastor kept saying he was busy attending to crusades outside the country whenever Wambui demanded to know the location of the plot.
The accused reported avoided calls from the complainant and went into hiding before he was arrested in Ruiru.
Kiarie denied the charge.
The case will be heard on June 8.
