Will sending saucy texts to my boss cost me my job?

Dear Coleen,

I’m a smart and very professional businesswoman, but I have got involved in sending saucy text messages to my managing director.

I sent him a text, which I ended with three kisses, to give the right signals. At first it was fun – I felt alive and the danger gave me a thrill.

Now, though, I regret my actions and I’m worried about losing my job if he rejects my advances.

What should I do? It’s eating me up inside.

Coleen says..

Hmm, not a very smart and professional thing to do, eh? The only thing you can do is stop texting him and hope he ignores the messages.

You don’t say if he’s replied. If he hasn’t, then he’s either not interested or doesn’t want to cross that line with a work colleague.

If he does confront you over the messages, you can try saying you were being silly and flirtatious, but now realise it wasn’t professional and you want to concentrate on your job.
