Vihiga man chops off manhood after wife called him useless in bed

There was a spectacle to behold at Emmuri village in Luanda constituency, Vihiga County when a man unsuccessfully tried to chop off his manhood after his alleged adulterous wife took a dig at him, calling him “useless” between the sheets.

The man, in his thirties, suffered a serious blow when the incident turned tragic, leaving him hospitalised, and turning him into a laughing stock.

It all began when the man returned home, after he had disappeared for three days, to a sulking wife. He is reported to have developed the habit--vanishing, switching off his phone and surfacing days later — and never wanted to be asked where he was.

This annoyed his wife, and is believed to be the reason why she had allegedly become adulterous. On this particular day, he returned and when his wife demanded to know where he had been, he refused to answer.

That night, when he tried to touch his wife in attempt to initiate romance, she resisted. And when he insisted, she flung herself out of the bedroom in protest, yelling obscenities and calling him names, among them, a useless man who didn’t satisfy her in bed.

Since then, she denied him conjugal rights. With his ego bruised, the man turned hostile to her, and they have been fighting — both verbally and, at times, physically — at the slightest provocation.

“We always hear them quarreling at night. The man is always heard whining about how his conjugal rights are being violated. Most recently, he was overheard complaining that, if his wife continues denying him {access to the cookie jar}, he will cut off his manhood,” a neighbour, only identified as Matikho, and familiar with the goings-on on in the home, revealed.

The neighbour confirmed that the adamant woman refused and told the man off, telling him that he no longer had any conjugal rights. “That evening, they had a heated argument that degenerated into a scuffle.

The man locked himself in the bedroom where he tried to chop off his manhood because his wife had proclaimed it was ineffective,” Matikho, who was among those who transported the embattled man to a mission hospital in Luanda, adds.

Matikho and other neigbours who tried to save the man believe it will be a miracle if medics succeed in reconstructing it. The man is still hospitalised. Locals expressed their disappointment in him, with some taunting him and others defending him, albeit tongue in cheek.

“What would you do if you were the one?” one local quipped amid giggles. “You better chop off that thing to render it completely useless. What is the point of having it yet your wife calls it useless and prefers other men,” joked another. The marriage now hangs in the balance.
