ELDORET: Meshack Yebei's family yesterday visited his four-roomed house in the outskirts of Eldoret town after reports that a person resembling him had been sighted there several times after he was reported missing.

The visit comes after two boda boda operators claimed they knew where Yebei was seeking refuge.

"We are wondering why you always report that he disappeared. We have seen him around a number of days," said one of the Boda boda riders who sought anonymity.

"I saw him last Saturday. That is the last time I saw him, he normally carries a bag. I have carried him on my motorcycle twice since you people reported that he had disappeared," said another rider.

Wednesday, the family led by Reverend Moses Kisorio and Yebei's wife, Lilian took the Press to the semi-permanent house at Kiplombe in a bid to corroborate the claims.

"When we heard the claims, we saw it prudent to come and confirm for ourselves and possibly see if we could find leads that he indeed was living here and it is evident from the house structure that our brother was not a millionaire as many would think, he was just starting to develop himself," said Kisorio.

After inquiring from neighbours, the family was informed that none had not seen Yebei. Lydia Menjo, one of the neighbours told the family no one has ever come to the house since the family left for Christmas.

"The news about the disappearance of Meshack Yebei shocked us. We call on the Government to assist trace him so that the family can find peace," she said.

Lilian said they built the four-roomed house in April 2013 and they lived there until December last year when he disappeared.
