Dad massacres family before shooting himself

Jonathan Walker, 34, massacre family

A dad shot his family before turning the gun on himself.

Jonathan Walker, 34, blasted his two daughters, his girlfriend and her mother in the head.

The bodies of Viola Warren, 62, Shantai Hale, 31, were discovered in one bedroom, while little Kayla Walker, 7, was found in another bedroom.

The only survivor of massacre is the couple’s 12-year-old daughter, who managed to call police.

Despite having being shot through the head and the bullet exiting through her eye, the brave little girl managed to let police in and was able to talk to them for around a quarter of an hour before being rushed to hospital.

The girl is described as being in a stable condition.

After the shooting Walker, who played professional basketball in Portugal from 2008 to 2009, fled the scene at the family home in Queens, New York.

A man hunt was launched, but at around 12pm his body was found inside his car near John F. Kennedy Airport.

He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head which police believe was self inflicted.

It is unclear what the motive for the shooting was.

According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce, Walker called his brother in Las Vegas after the killing, saying: “What I did, I cannot come back from”.

Speaking of the children, Viola Warren’s brother described them as “the best kids you’ve ever seen in your life”.

He added: “I don’t know how he could take them away like that.”
