Nakumatt opens up Sh200million branch in Kenya's Coast

NAIROBI, KENYA: Retail supermarket giants Nakummat Holdings has opened up new branch in the coastal city of Mombasa.
Nakumatt Bamburi was opened up to shoppers yesterday bringing the number of retails outlets to six in the region and 52 branches across East Africa.
The county play home to Nakumatt Nyali, Nakumatt Likoni, Nakumatt Cinemax, Nakumat Diani and Nakumatt Malindi.
The supermarket chain with branches across the four East African countries, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda said it was seeking to expand its presence further in the region with the supermarkets managing director Atul Shah stating that they were planning to venture in Mtwapa in Kilifi and also Taita Taveta.
"The opening of Nakumatt Bamburi is only the beginning of ensuring that our presence is felt in the county. We are also planning to open more branches in the region with our eyes set in Mtwapa and Taita Taveta," said the MD.
The MD said the new 15,000 square foot branch which was set up at a cost of sh 200 million had created employment to 120 locals in the area.
